Bringing jewish and traditional Klezmer music to the symphony orchestra and its public
An original program of Jewish music for clarinet and orchestra. Ravel's masterpiece Deux Chansons Hébraïque, a newly written Concertino by Israeli composer Ofer Ben Amots, using music from the Psalms, from the Ladino tradition and from traditional Klezmer. A wonderful Klezmer Fantasy made out of klezmer folk tunes from eastern Europe, arranged by Sergai Abir.
The program was commissioned by the Geneva Chamber Orchestra (l'OCG) and was preceded by Mozart's overture of "The Abduction from the Seraglio" and his monumental Clarinet Concerto K.622.
